Lawson Products is looking for a Sr. Manager of Global Transportation to be responsible for our global supply chain logistics activities from vendor to end user points of delivery. The person hired for this position will be responsible for managing multiple projects to ensure that our network partners provide transport services that meet our defined financial, service and performance standards. They will be responsible for an annual budget of $19M+. The individual selected for the position will work with our distribution centers throughout the United States and Canada and will travel up to 15% of the time to other locations.

Directs Lawson’s global transportation strategy to ensure inbound and outbound delivery deadlines are met, including all modes of transportation across Lawson sales channels and non-merchandise global procurement movement
Oversees negotiations with transportation vendors, cultivating and maintaining relationships to enable greater efficiencies and cost savings.
Manages all North American Cross Boarder Brokerage to ensure the Company is maintaining the lowest cost brokerage and duty expenses and remains in compliance with all cross border documentation and reporting requirements.
Updates NAFTA certification records throughout the year to ensure Lawson incurs minimal duties.
Works to develop partnerships with freight forwarders that promotes a clear understanding of changes in the tariff landscape that impact Lawson shipments and strategic planning.

Bachelor’s degree in transportation management, procurement and/or supply chain
10+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing or related operations
Import/Export compliance knowledge (i.e., CTPAT/NAFTA/customs, Harmonized Tariff Standards (HTS coding).
Certification in Supply Chain/Logistics concepts
Experience with managing Canadian small parcel movements
Strong analytic and computer skills with advanced experience in MS Excel, Access and Power Point
SAP and Manifest system (ADSI) experience a plus
Prior experience handling international logistics
